Warranty

Overview

POSHPOSH suitcases are covered by a lifetime warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. This document explains what is covered, what is not, how to make a claim, and how this warranty relates to your rights as a consumer.

This warranty applies to POSHPOSH suitcases purchased directly from poshposh.dk or from an authorised POSHPOSH retailer. It does not cover accessories, including the aluminium tray.

Coverage

This warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship for the lifetime of the suitcase. It applies to:

  1. Structural failure of the aluminium shell or frame
  2. The TSA-approved combination locks
  3. The carry and telescopic handle
  4. The wheel assemblies
  5. The hinges and closures

A defect is a fault that was present in the suitcase at the time of manufacture, whether in the material itself or in how the suitcase was assembled. This includes faults that become apparent only after a period of use.

For the purposes of this warranty, structural failure means the shell or frame cracking, fracturing, splitting, or otherwise failing in a way that affects the suitcase's ability to function correctly — for example, no longer closing, locking, or standing upright as intended. A dent or other change in the external shape of the suitcase, however it occurred and however visible, is a cosmetic change rather than a structural failure, and is addressed under Exclusions below rather than under this section.

Where a covered defect is confirmed, we will repair the affected part at no cost to you. If repair is not possible, we will replace it. If an identical replacement is not available, we will provide a comparable solution of equivalent function and quality or, at our discretion, a partial or full refund of the original purchase price.

Exclusions

This warranty does not cover cosmetic wear, including scratches, scuffs, dents, and discolouration resulting from normal use. It does not cover damage caused by airline or third-party handling, damage resulting from misuse, neglect, or accident, or damage caused by unauthorised repair or modification. Normal wear and tear from regular use is not considered a defect.

If your suitcase arrives damaged or faulty, please contact us within 14 days of delivery. This is addressed under our returns policy rather than this warranty.

Warranty Period

This warranty is valid for the lifetime of the suitcase. Unlike our earlier fixed-term warranty, there is no end date — a claim may be made at any point during the time you own your suitcase, provided the fault falls within Coverage above. Coverage applies regardless of how frequently the suitcase is used, provided it is used as intended.

"Lifetime" refers to the functional life of the suitcase itself, not a fixed number of years. It does not extend or apply to parts, accessories, or components not listed under Coverage.

Making a Claim

To make a claim, contact us at hello@poshposh.dk with your order number, a description of the fault, and photographs where possible. We will confirm whether the fault is covered within five business days of receiving this information.

Your order confirmation serves as proof of purchase and will be requested when a claim is made. If the suitcase needs to be returned for inspection, we will confirm the return address and any required documentation.

If a claim is approved, we will cover the cost of returning the repaired or replacement item to you. The cost of sending the suitcase to us is the customer's responsibility, unless local consumer law provides otherwise.

If a claim is not approved, we will explain the reason and, where relevant, provide an estimate for a paid repair.

International Claims

This warranty applies equally to customers within and outside Denmark. Import duties or taxes incurred when sending a suitcase to us for repair are the customer's responsibility and are not covered under this warranty.

Statutory Rights

This warranty exists in addition to, and does not affect, your statutory rights as a consumer. Under Danish law, consumers are entitled to a right of complaint (reklamationsret) of up to twenty-four months from the date of delivery, for defects present at the time of delivery. Consumers resident in other EU countries retain equivalent rights under their own national law. This warranty extends beyond that statutory period for as long as you own your suitcase, on the terms set out under Coverage above.

Limitation of Liability

This warranty covers the repair or replacement of a defective part. It does not cover loss of use, loss of time, travel disruption, damage to the contents of the suitcase, or any other indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in this warranty limits any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

Proof of Purchase

Your order confirmation serves as proof of purchase for the purposes of this warranty. If you no longer have a copy, please contact us regardless; we can often locate an order using the email address or name used at checkout. If a suitcase was purchased as a gift, the recipient is covered on the same terms as the original purchaser, provided proof of purchase can be supplied.

Transfer of Ownership

This warranty follows the suitcase rather than the original purchaser. If a suitcase is sold or passed on to someone else, whether as a gift or through a private sale, the new owner is covered under the same terms, provided proof of purchase can be supplied.

Governing Law

This warranty is governed by Danish law. This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer under the law of the country in which you reside, as set out in Statutory Rights above.

FAQ

Because they are built from better materials and made to last. Every suitcase is constructed from anodised aluminium — a material that is strong, durable, and built to handle years of travel without showing its age. The price reflects what goes into making it.

The aluminium shell is solid and well-finished. The TSA-approved combination locks close cleanly and securely. The 360° silent wheels move quietly on any surface. The structured interior is lined and divided to keep your belongings in order throughout the journey. Every part of the suitcase is made to a high standard and built to last.

We do not offer discounts or run seasonal sales. The price is set to reflect the quality of the product.

A well made aluminium suitcase, looked after properly, will last for many years of travel. Over time, the cost per trip becomes very low. Most of our customers consider it the last suitcase they will need to buy.

The Cabin (20") is a carry-on suitcase sized for the overhead compartment on most major airlines. It holds 36 litres and weighs 4 kg — enough for up to one week of travel without checking in. The Check-In (24") is a larger suitcase intended to be checked in, with a capacity of 56 litres and a weight of 4.42 kg. Both are made from the same anodised aluminium shell with the same locks, wheels, and interior finish.

The Cabin is sized to meet the carry-on requirements of most major airlines, including

• British Airways • EasyJet • Swiss • Lufthansa • SAS • Norwegian • Emirates Qatar Airways • Virgin Atlantic • American Airlines among others.

We recommend checking the current policy with your carrier before travelling, as restrictions can vary by route, aircraft type, and fare class.

Your suitcase arrives with the lock set to the default code 0-0-0. To set your own combination, open the lock using the default code, press and hold the small reset button on the side of the lock, enter your chosen three-digit code, then release the button.

Your new code is now saved. If you have any difficulty, please contact us and we will help.

Wipe the exterior with a soft, damp cloth after each trip. Avoid abrasive materials or strong cleaning products, as these can damage the anodised surface. Over time, the aluminium will develop a natural patina from use and travel. This is a characteristic of the material, not a defect.

Both materials are used in quality suitcases, but they behave differently. Aluminium is rigid and holds its shape well under pressure. It does not flex or crack over time. Polycarbonate is lighter and absorbs impact by flexing, but it can crack or weaken with heavy use over the years. For travellers who prioritise durability and a solid feel, aluminium is the stronger long-term choice.

Every suitcase comes with a lifetime guarantee covering functional defects in materials and craftsmanship. This includes the frame, the combination locks, the wheels, the handle, and all structural components.

If any of these fail under normal use at any point during the life of the suitcase, we will repair or replace it at no cost to you.

The guarantee does not cover cosmetic marks such as scratches, scuffs, or dents from everyday travel or airline handling. These are a natural result of use and are not considered defects.

Contact us at Hello@poshposh.dk with your order number, a description of the issue, and clear photographs of the fault. We will review your claim and respond within 2–3 working days. Where a claim is approved, we will cover all costs, including return shipping.

No. Damage caused by airline baggage handling - dents, scratches, or deformation from external impact during transit - is the responsibility of the airline. If your suitcase is damaged on a flight, we recommend filing a report with the airline at the airport before leaving the baggage hall. A written report filed at the time of arrival is important for any claim to be considered by the airline.

Yes. The guarantee applies to the suitcase, not the original buyer. If you purchase a suitcase as a gift, the person who receives it is covered under the same terms. The original proof of purchase will be required when making a claim.

Yes. The lifetime guarantee applies wherever you are. If you experience a functional fault while travelling, contact us at Hello@poshposh.dk and we will find the right solution for you.
